Supreme Blackout Shades have the look and feel of rich cloth. The interior facing side is a lightly textured, opaque polyester which comes in a broad range of decorator colors. The exterior facing side has a white acrylic foamed backing (PVC free) to stop the heat.

This fabric should be regularly dusted or vacuumed as appropriate. If commercial spot cleaners are used, they must first be tested and allowed to dry on an inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility.
Dual colormaterials have a white outside acrylic backing for better heat rejection in the summer. In the winter they stop cold transfer through windows. These fabrics are bacterial and mold resistant.
North Solar Screen takes cords and child safety seriously. Our shades are available cordless (recommended where young children are present.) All chain shades have cord safety tensioners to reduce the hazards of cord strangulation or entanglement or they can be motorized.
Shades can be motorized using the Somfy Battery Operated Radio Motor with the Reloadable Battery Wand with 8 lithium batteries. New Solar Powered Battery Packs are also available in place of the lithium batteries. To calculate the price of a motorized shade, add the shade price to the battery motor price. For the Solar Powered Battery Pack add an additional $75.00. Then add the cost of either a 1 Channel Remote or a multi channel remote. Remotes are pre-programmed to correspond to each shade. Please tell us how you want the remotes set. Multi channel remotes can operate up to 100 shades. The last button opens and closes them simultaneously.
The minimum size of a shade is 12" x 12". The maximum size of a shade depends on the style:
Standard roller - 92" wide x 120" high (120" wide x 78 1/2" high railroaded)
Ultra Sleek Cassette - 84" wide x 84" high
Ultra Sleek Plus Cassette - 90" wide x 120" high
Motorized Ultra Sleek Plus Cassette - 92" wide x 120" high

Shades are shipped with all the necessary hardware. Our brackets are universal so shades can be mounted inside the frame, outside the frame or from the top down. Chain lengths are 3/4's of the way down the shade. Please specify if you need longer chains.
