Storefront Shades reduce fading and bleaching of merchandise, store fixtures and furniture from ultra violet light. Our shades still allow customers to see into your store or business while protecting your inventory.

North Solar Screen takes cords and child safety seriously. Our shades are available cordless (recommended where young children are present.) All chain shades have cord safety tensioners to reduce the hazards of cord strangulation or entanglement or they can be motorized.

Storefront Shade material is made from several layers of laminated mylar joined with heat and pressure to form a flexible and durable shade material. These layers are coated with uvenol, a colorless UV inhibitor that screens out 99% of the ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet light is the primary cause of fading. However, visible light (blue light in particular) and heat also play a role. North Solar Screen offers different shade colors that address varying amounts of light and heat rejection. These shades are lead free.

Storefront Shade color Clear comes 60" wide. Any storefront shade whose dimensions are BOTH wider than 60" and higher than 58" will require a horizontal seam. (Ex. 75" x 75".) Silver/Tint comes 72" wide. Any shade BOTH wider than 72" and higher than 70" will require a horizontal seam. (Ex. 85" x 85")

Our brackets are universal so Storefront Shades can be mounted inside the frame, outside the frame or from the top down. Storefront Shades are shipped with all the necessary hardware. Chain lengths are 3/4's of the way down the shade. All chains come with child proof tensioners. Please specify if you need longer chains.

The storefront shade colors below are listed by Sun Fade Control Value.
All three provide vision into a display window for a full view of merchandise on display.

~Silver Tint - Moderate Sun Fade Conditions
Silver Tint shows less dust than Clear colored shades.

~Clear Transparent U.V.- Mild Sun Fade Conditions. Also in combination with Awnings or building overhangs.
No color distortion of merchandise. Fade protection only from Ultra Violet Light.
50% effective as Amber.

~Dual Color Combination Shade is the best over all protection for storefronts. Clear or Silver Tint for fade protection at the lower section of the shade for maximum vision into the storefront window. A darker color shade is seamed above eye level (no vision in) for maximum heat and glare reduction. This concept works best for tall windows. The color split should be near or above eye level from the street side. Check with us for current Storefront Shade material widths to avoid extra seams.

All necessary hardware and installation instructions are included with Storefront Shades. Storefront Shades wider the 60" and higher then 60" inches will need to be seamed.
