North Solar Screen, LLC warranties:

• Somfy or XQ5 Motors, remotes, sensors, controls, for 5 years. Helios Motors 3 years.
• Cranks, housings, side rails, cables, cable hardware, fabric seams, for 10 years.
• IF INSTALLED WITHIN 3 MILES OF SALTWATER, cranks, housings, side rails, cables, and cable hardware have a reduced warranty of ONE year. Fabric and motor warranties are unchanged.
• Suntex 90, 95 and 97 fabrics and Insect fabrics for 10 years, Clear Vinyl with Solid Borders and Soltis Blackout for 5 years.
• Shades must be installed correctly per instructions. We will request photos and videos of your installation.
• To stay within warranty, shades must NOT be left down in winds greater than the product is rated for. We may check historic wind speed data in your area.
• Good for original owner of shades only.
• Under no circumstances are installer fees covered, regardless of whether it is a warranty issue or not.
• Replacement parts are sent Ground. If expedited shipping is desired, you may pay the difference between Ground and expedited shipping.
• Not following the Use & Care Guide on the Citadel High Wind Zipper Track shades will void the warranty. Contractors: Make sure your END USER signs the Use & Care Contract or the warranty will be void.
• All shade orders are custom and as such cannot be returned or refunded. Defective or incorrect parts will be replaced.

HOLES IN FABRIC

• Please see our slide show on the Products Page that shows how carefully and meticulously our shades are manufactured and shipped. There are no sharp instruments on site. Fabrics are cut with state-of-the-art lasers, seams are sonically welded, and our tables are rounded and smooth. All shades are thoroughly inspected before they are carefully packaged to ensure they are pristine. Therefore rips, tears, or cuts in the fabric were either caused by the shipping company, opening the boxes with knives or scissors, or happened during installation.

SHIPPING DAMAGES (on receipt)

• If shipping damage exception number is obtained from carrier, all damaged/missing parts are replaced free of charge if reported within 30 days of delivery. Photographs showing damaged packaging and parts are required.
• If shipping damage exception number is not obtained from carrier, all damaged/missing parts are replaced free of charge if reported within 4 business days of delivery. Photographs showing damaged packaging and parts are required.

NOT AS ORDERED OR DEFECTIVE (when installing)

• If reported within 60 days of receipt of the original order, replacement parts/shipping are free of charge. If reported 61 days or more after receipt of original order, replacement parts are free BUT YOU PAY SHIPPING.
• Defective means fabric mis-weave, bad powder coat finish, lumpy seams, non- working motors or remotes, or non-working crank gears at installation time. We may request photos and videos.
• Not as ordered means wrong size, color, fabric, lift system, cable anchor hardware, etc. We may request photos of what you received.
• Our confirmations detail shade dimensions, fabric dimensions and colors, and all the specifics about the construction of the shades you are ordering. Because we are not on site, it is your responsibility to carefully read them to verify that they are correct when you OK the order.
• There is a +/- 1/8” production tolerance. For wrong size you must send photos showing the product being measured. We may also request other photos/videos.

DAMAGED (after installation) 

• We will request photos and video and measurements to try to determine the cause of the problem (for example, failed welds, holes in fabric, cables pulling out, shades rolling crookedly, shades jamming in tracks.) Most of these problems are caused by shades being left down in more wind or colder temperatures than they rated for, issues with the installation causing the shade not to track or roll correctly, parts of the structure it is installed on interfering with the fabric and damaging it. If it is determined that the cause is weather or installation related, you will need to purchase replacement parts and pay for shipping regardless of when you report it.
• Contact us immediately for assistance if the shade:
  • Comes out of the tracks
  • The zipper is folding over (see picture)

  Both situations must be addressed within a week or the fabric may develop a memory for the wrong position (hour glassing if allowed to hang free, or the zipper folding over) and will require purchase of a replacement panel.

• If it is determined that a factory defect caused it, if reported before 60 days from receipt of the original order, replacement parts and shipping are free. If reported 61 days or more after receipt of the original order, replacement parts are free BUT YOU PAY SHIPPING.

MOTORS

• If motor fails in the first 60 days, we will send you a new motor and label for sending the bad motor back no charge. If it is after 60 days, you will be charged $75 for shipping (pickup of bad motor and delivery of new one.)
• You will be required to send photos of the electrical connections as well as the whole installation and do trouble shooting with the factory tech.
• Evidence of water in the motor will void the motor warranty.
• Operating motorized shades without using the cable guides or side rails voids the motor warranty.
• Damage from dropping, improper installation resulting in the power cord being torn out, and opening up the motor end cap void the warranty.

NOT COVERED 

• • Installer fees—ever.
  • Expedited shipping for replacement parts.
  • Damage caused by weather (wind or temperatures that the product is not designed for).
  • Damage caused by improper installation or installing in ways that are against our recommendations.
  • Normal wear and tear, wear from fabric rubbing on walls, posts, or any part of the structure the shade is mounted on, extra bolts you wrongly installed on the shade, or any damage caused by the bottom weight bar hitting posts, walls, etc.
  • Damage to plastic hand brace handles from being left out in the sun or hanging on the shade.
  • Rusting to stainless steel or steel components if within 3 miles of saltwater or adjacent to a chlorinated pool (warranty reduced to one year).
  • Not following the Use & Care Guide on the Citadel High Wind Zipper Track shades will void the warranty. Contractors: Make sure your END USER signs the Use & Care Contract or the warranty will be void.
  • All shade orders are custom and as such cannot be returned or refunded.

 Occasional light vacuuming with a soft bristle attachment or gentle feather duster is all that is required to keep shades looking fresh and neat.

Verosol fabrics are also easy to maintain, dust can be removed with a soft feather duster or vacuuming with a soft brush at the lowest position. When intensive cleaning is required the colored (room) side can be cleaned with a wet cloth. NEVER use an alcohol or ammonia-based cleaner (such as Windex) on Verosol fabrics or allow those cleaners to come into contact with the silver side of the shade. Verosol fabrics cannot be ultrasonically cleaned.

Cleaning Outdoor Shades

Sponge with a solution of one cup mild detergent with one cup household bleach in three gallons of water. Avoid rubbing too hard. Rinse thoroughly with clear water and air dry by hanging shade in a roll down position. If you see mildew on the fabric or do not see any but know it is a problem in your area periodically scrub or sponge the fabric with a commercial mildew remover or 1 part bleach to 3 parts water and rinse thoroughly. Avoid skin and eye contact when working with bleach solutions.

The tracks or cables must be hosed down on a regular basis to make sure they are clear of dirt and debris before lifting or lowering the shade, or it will not function correctly. Not doing so will void the warranty.  If installed high up or on a second story, any equipment or labor needed for the initial installation could be needed for cleaning.  We do not cover such labor costs.

For Citadel Zipper Track shades, lubricate the zippers and PVC inserts or the extruded zipper channel (as applicable) inside the rails with a dry silicone spray regularly to ensure smooth operation. Video: How to Lubricate Citadel Tracks This is the lubricant recommended:

The limited warranty is extended to the original residential purchaser only, or for the original purchaser of shades installed in commercial, institutional, or multi-tenant facilities in the original window for which it was installed. We cannot be held responsible for shipping warranty replacement parts or shades out of the continental US.

DAMAGES IN SHIPPING: When you receive your shipment, if there is any sign of damage to the outer packaging, you MUST notate that there was such damage on the bill of lading when you sign it and send us photos of the damaged packages and shade products. If you do not, we will NOT be able to replace parts or shades that are damaged. We can ONLY REPLACE, we CANNOT REFUND for damaged shipments. We are constrained by the freight companies’ policies in this matter.  15% restocking fee for return of components (i.e., motors, replacement clutches, chains. We do not take returns on custom cut shades.)

NOT COVERED: Vandalism, improper operation, customer installation, any installer fees (North Solar Screen will not assume responsibility for any labor installation problems, including NBI and installation of replacement of in-warranty parts), wear on cords, scuffing/scratching of mylar film, chains pulleys and locks, rusting of décor bar, change of color from continued exposure to strong sunlight, damage to exterior shade and/or motor when not retracted in windy conditions. We reserve the right to request specific pictures/videos detailing the problem to send to our factory for inspection and final decision. We may require you to speak to factory personnel for assistance troubleshooting to determine what parts need replacing or if the product needs to be remade. We are not responsible for the payment of any labor associated with the re-installation of parts or shades. Battery life is estimated based on raising and lowering the shade once daily. We do not warranty batteries. Estimated battery life for a single 12 volt wand is about 1-1.5 years. A Booster Battery Wand extends battery life to about 2 years. The life of the battery depends upon the weight of the material and how often it is used per day. Average battery life is about 1.5-2 years depending upon those factors.

We do not cover shipping on any shade parts or warranty replacement parts outside of the continental U.S.

RollEase Lifetime Warranty: RollEase Inc. warrants that RollEase clutches shall conform to RollEase, Inc.’s specifications and therefore, when properly installed in a window covering, in accordance with intended category, diameter, size, weight and assembly practices, and when used in conjunction with other RollEase, Inc. components or previously-approved components of other manufacturers, shall be free of defects in workmanship and materials under the normal use and service for which intended, for so long as the original purchaser owns the product. During the warranty period RollEase Inc. shall, at its expense and at its option, repair, replace or issue appropriate credit for any clutch that proves to be defective. RollEase Inc.’s liability in such cases applies only to the clutch mechanism and does not extend to include any related costs or expenses incurred by replacement, repair or return. This warranty does not apply to any RollEase clutch subjected to unauthorized repair or alteration, or to misuse or abuse. The warranty herein is in lieu of all other warranties, oral or written, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of fitness for use. In no event shall RollEase, Inc. be liable for loss of anticipated profits or for special, collateral, consequential or incidental damages, direct or indirect.

Somfy Warranty: Somfy warrants their motors and motor control systems to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal and proper use for a period of five years starting from the date stamped on the motor. Mechanical, electrical and electronic accessories are warranted for one year from the date of invoice. SOMFY 5 Year Warranty (pdf)

RollEase Motor Warranty: Rollease warrants its battery powered DC motors to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years when installed properly and operated under normal use from the date stamped on affixed label on each device.

Inspection of Defect: We reserve the right to inspect shades to determine if there is a manufacturing error. Please do not return shades unless we request it. Returns MUST be put in a box and then shipped to us. Returns MUST be shipped in a box and packed well to prevent damage. Freight is not covered. Inspect all cartons immediately for damage. Please do not accept your shipment if the cartons are damaged.

Our Return Policy: When shades are ordered from North Solar Screen, our shade materials must be cut to fit. Once materials have been cut, orders CAN NOT be cancelled.

Color Disclaimer for All Shades: We always recommend that you received samples before ordering your shades. Despite every effort to accurately duplicate each product’s color when scanned to our website, actual colors may vary. Due to monitor and/or video card differences, subtle variations in color and surface texture may not be fully revealed. Again, these are custom products and CANNOT be returned for reasons other than warranty repair or service. Therefore you need to be certain that any slight variations occurring between the actual color, and the representation on our website, will be acceptable. Slight variations might occur between the sample and the finished product. These dye lot variations are common to the manufacturing process, and are within industry tolerances. They are not defects. Due to these variations we recommend that when identical products and colors are to used for more than one opening, that they all be ordered at the same time. North Solar Screen cannot be responsible for dye lot variances.

IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE AND USE INFO ON CITADEL ZIPPER TRACK SHADES

You must sign this to show that you are aware of these guidelines before purchasing a Citadel System. If you are a contractor both you and your end user must sign.

1. I will not roll my Citadel shades down when it is windy. I will lower them in calm conditions. (They can be retracted, however, when it is windy.)
2. I will make sure that the housing box and rails are mounted flush with each other, that the housing box is level and that the side rails are plumb and parallel to each other.
3. I will watch the shades when operating them and stop them if not operating correctly. If it appears to be jammed I will stop operating the shade, reverse the direction, and inspect the track for dirt and debris.
4. If wind stops the shade from going down, I will stop and raise the shade again to re-engage the fabric and lower again, repeating until the shade is lowered.
5. I will not leave the shades down unattended in winds 50 mph or higher.
6. I will keep the tracks clear of debris, and hose the shades and tracks regularly, especially if I have not operated them in a while.
7. I will contact North Solar Screen 866 230 4700 if the shade
   1. Comes out of the tracks
   2. The zipper is folding over
   3. I will do this within a week as the fabric may develop a memory for the wrong position (hour glassing if allowed to hang free, or the zipper staying folded over) and require the purchase of a replacement panel
8. I will lubricate the zippers and PVC inserts inside the rails with a dry silicone spray regularly to ensure smooth operation.
9. I will NOT use oil based lubricants as these will cause dirt to build up and affect the way the zipper operates
10. I understand that motorized shades do not have a manual override, so if there is a power out I will not be able to fully raise the shade. If I fully enclose the structure, I understand I should order one with a crank, or leave one opening uncovered as an emergency egress.
11. I understand that wear to the fabric/seams due to rubbing on any walls, posts, banisters, etc. is not covered by warranty.
12. If these are installed very high or on a second story, I understand that any equipment or labor needed for the initial installation will be needed for the maintenance and cleaning of my shades including annual lubrication of zippers and cleaning of clear vinyl inserts or warranty replacement of motors. North Solar Screen does not cover these costs.
13. I understand that warranty replacement of motors entails opening the housing box, removing the rails, removing the roller, and then replacing the motor and reinstalling everything—a 2 man job. North Solar Screen does not cover these costs.
14. I will only clean my clear vinyl shade using IMAR 313 Clear Vinyl Clean & Protect, or Sumner Labs 210 Plastic Cleaner and Polish. Instructions on website. I will NEVER use Windex, Rain-X, Pledge, Plexus, Simple Green, Orpine, car wax, or any other harsh cleaner.
15. I will NOT install my clear vinyl shade when the temperature is under 60 degrees F.
16. I will never leave the shade rolled down if it is out of its tracks for any reason.

Did you order the powder coat colors for the housing box and fabric retention tracks?

Since it is very pliable, vinyl can easily be scratched and caution needs to be exercised when working with the material.  Make sure that you can remove any insect screens you have in the openings so you can clean both sides of the vinyl.

Clear vinyl should be cleaned regularly to remove dirt. Abrasive cleaners cannot be used on window vinyl. Cleaning should be done with a mild vinyl cleaner or basic mild neutral soap such as Ivory or Lux mixed with lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with water. Do Not Use Detergents.

Vinyl shades should not be folded and stored for an extended period of time when damp or wet.

Use the IMAR 313 Clear Vinyl Clean & Protect provided with your shades to help protect the vinyl and help it operate well in humid conditions. Once or twice a year is usually sufficient; apply when vinyl appears dull. To use, shake container well. Spray on lightly. Wipe off and buff with clean cloth. (Do not use paper towels).  If installed high up or on a second story, any equipment or labor needed for the initial installation could be needed for cleaning.  We do not cover such labor costs.

Make sure that you can remove any insect screens you have in the openings so you can clean both sides of the vinyl.

1. 1. Clean the surface carefully to make sure there is nothing abrasive on the clear vinyl window by flushing with clear water.
   2. Apply IMAR 313 Clear Vinyl Clean & Protect (pictured below, comes included with your order) OR Sumner Labs 210 Plastic Cleaner & Polish. These are both spray cleaners. Wait 20 seconds or so and then wipe with a soft cloth—microfiber is the best. (Do not use paper towels).
   3. If you accidentally scratch the clear vinyl window, you can polish the scratches away using Sumner Labs 210 +Plus Scratch Remover. This comes in a flip top bottle.
   4. Polishing Strataglass Clear Vinyl shade windows. We recommend this procedure every 1-2 months, especially when the shades are new.  Make sure the shade is clean and dry.  Apply a light coat of IMAR 302 Protective Polish on both the inside and outside surfaces with small, light circular motions using a soft cotton cloth or applicator pad. Allow the polish to quickly dry.  Lightly buff with a dry soft cotton or micro fiber cloth to a sparkling smooth shine. Over time, with multiple applications, the polish will build up a strong protective barrier.  Polishing is the most important maintenance procedure to extend the life of the shade windows and maintain the warranty.

• Plan on having 2 able bodied people on site to unload the truck. There will only be one driver and if you use the lift gate there will be a $90 surcharge. This is a liftgate:

• Make sure we have your daytime phone number in case there’s a problem. The will call you to make a delivery appointment.
• Be careful how you sign for your shipment. It is imperative that you mark the bill of lading ‘damaged’  or ‘possible internal damage’ and get an ‘exception number’  if there is any sign of damage to the outer packaging,  NO MATTER HOW SMALL. You will have 30 days to report damages if you get an ‘exception number’ for damage to outer package and only 4 days if you do not get this ‘exception number.’  If you fail to do so and there are damaged or missing parts, we will not be able to replace them without charging you. Freight company policies only allow us to replace items and not refund them. You must report to us that the shipment appeared damaged within 24 hours. Include photos of the damaged boxes.
• Do not change the delivery address for your shipment once it has actually shipped unless you are willing to pay the re consignment fee which is usually about $150
• Let us know if you are going to be away, even if you don’t think it will be when the shade is due to be delivered. Sometimes shipments are ready earlier or later than expected. Please let us know when you are traveling so we can try to keep the delivery from arriving at the terminal in your absence.  Old Dominion charges storage fees for keeping shipments at the terminal.
• Do not schedule an installer until you know your shipment is complete and intact. We do not cover installer visits even if they are return visits necessary because of missing or damaged parts.
• Let us know if your address is hard to get to with a huge truck. Some truck terminals don’t have anything but large semis  (tractor trailers) to deliver. If your address is not accessible by a large semi, you may have to pick up at the terminal yourself. If you do not have a large enough vehicle to pick up and need to rent one, that is your responsibility. If delivery is attempted and the truck cannot make it, you may be charged a re delivery fee.

The best way to maintain the optical clarity of film shades is to avoid the dust adhesion caused by the natural static that occurs with all mylar shades. We recommend a light feather dusting on a regular basis. It helps to spray an anti-static aerosol on the dusting implement. Look for electronic anti-static sprays such as 3M and Endust for Electronics, available at home improvement centers, hardware stores and cleaning supply companies.

If there is a smudged area use a mild, highly diluted dishwashing liquid with a clean soft cloth. Apply gently to avoid scratching the surface. Do this on small surfaces to ensure shade is completely dry before re-rolling back around the tube, otherwise permanent marking of the film surface may occur.

NEVER use a Windex-type ammonia cleaner. It will age the film and leave additional chemicals on the surface, compromising the optical clarity of the material.

(Excessive Heat sources include, but not limited to: magnification of sun light through cubes of glass, heaters of any kind, ovens, candles, lighting fixtures, etc.) This warranty does not cover variation in color, grain, or texture in natural wood products nor excessive warping of wood slats in high humidity areas. Loss of pleating is not covered if the product is not being cycled (held in the raised position a portion of the time). Normal wear and tear is not covered. North Solar Screen, LLC. will not assume responsibility for any labor installation problems, whether measuring or installing,( including NBI and including the installation of in-warranty replacment parts.) We do not employ installers.

All moving parts, such as cords, will eventually wear out and fabric may fray. North Solar Screen, LLC. considers these things as normal wear and tear and residential applications carry a three year limited warranty. All fabric, including fabric vanes, panels, inserts, and shades carry a five year warranty. All wood alloy and faux wood slats carry a five year warranty. Commercial applications carry a five year warranty on both fabric and moving parts.

This limited warranty does not cover transportation costs to and from the retailer, costs of removal, re-measure, or reinstallation of product, or any incidental or consequential damages.

If a shade purchased through North Solar Screen, LLC. is found to be defective in materials or workmanship, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace or refund the cost of a product which fails to conform to this limited warranty.

We reserve the right to request specific pictures/videos detailing the problem to send to our factory for inspection and final decision. We may require you to speak to factory personnel for assistance troubleshooting to determine what parts need replacing or if the product needs to be remade. We are not responsible for the payment of any labor associated with the re-installation of parts or shades. Colors vary from lot to lot and may not exactly match sample swatch, sample book, or previous purchases. Discontinued components or color selections will be replaced with the closest equivalent current product. This shall be your sole remedy under this limited warranty.

Simplicity Warranty

Simplicity motors and controls  have a 5 year warranty. Specifically, we warrant the Simplicity motors and controls to be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal and proper use for a periods of 5 years commencing with the date stamped on each product. If the Simplicity product fails within this 5 year period, we will repair or replace it free of charge. We will warranty batteries for up to 3 months from date of purchase; batteries are not covered by the 5 year warranty.

If you have trouble with your motor, contact North Solar Screen and let us have you work with Tech Support. If after going through trouble shooting steps, Tech Support tells you you need a replacement motor, let us know. You will be sent a new motor and a label for returning the defective one, using the box the new one is sent to you in.  We will take your credit card information, which will only be used if the defective motor does not come back, or if it is found that the motor was damaged by water or other abuse.

This Warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. In no event shall North Solar Screen, LLC. or its licensed fabricators or distributors be liable for incidental or consequential damages, or for any other damage, loss or expense, cost or fee associated with such damage. In some states, exclusions for incidental or consequential damages are not allowable.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Policy is subject to change without notice.

All fabric, including fabric vanes, panels, inserts, and shades carry a five year warranty. All wood alloy and faux wood slats carry a five year warranty. Commercial applications carry a five year warranty on both fabric and moving parts. This limited warranty does not cover transportation costs to and from the retailer, costs of removal, re-measure, or re-installation of product, or any incidental or consequential damages. If a shade purchased through North Solar Screen, LLC. is found to be defective in materials or workmanship, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace or refund the cost of a product which fails to conform to this limited warranty. We reserve the right to request specific pictures/videos detailing the problem to send to our factory for inspection and final decision. We may require you to speak to factory personnel for assistance troubleshooting to determine what parts need replacing or if the product needs to be remade. We are not responsible for the payment of any labor associated with the re-installation of parts or shades. Colors vary from lot to lot and may not exactly match sample swatch, sample book, or previous purchases. Color Disclaimer for All Shades We always recommend that you received samples before ordering your shades. Despite every effort to accurately duplicate each product’s color when scanned to our website, actual colors may vary. Due to monitor and/or video card differences, subtle variations in color and surface texture may not be fully revealed. Again, these are custom products and CANNOT be returned for reasons other than warranty repair or service. Therefore you need to be certain that any slight variations occurring between the actual color, and the representation on our website, will be acceptable. Light vacuuming initially to remove the airborne particles followed by cold water with a mild non-ammoniated liquid detergent on a standard sponge. Avoid rubbing too hard. Rinse by immersing in clean water. Dry by hanging the shade in a rolled-down position. Make sure the fabric is flat.

Seams are a double thickness of the shade material, approximately 5/8″ tall.

*Shades larger than 120″ wide x 117″ high will require a horizontal sonically welded seam approximately ½” tall.
**Shades larger than 96″ wide x 94″ high will require a horizontal sonically welded seam approximately ½” tall .
***Shades larger than 126″ wide x 123″ high will require a horizontal sonically welded seam approximately ½” tall.

These fabrics include microban antimicrobial additives which inhibit the growth of stain and odor causing mold and mildew.

Vinyl should be cleaned regularly. Use a mild soap (like lux or Ivory) mixed with lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with water. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive soaps as they can ruin the surface. Let the shade air dry before rolling it up.

Cleaning Blackout Fabrics:
Blackout cellular fabric is easy to care for. The fabric can be dusted with a soft, clean cloth, feather duster or lightly vacuumed with a soft brush attachment. To spot clean, use a cloth or sponge dipped in a light solution of lukewarm water and clear dish detergent and lightly. Do not scrub the surface. Rinse thoroughly. Complete immersion in not recommended.

Cleaning Light Filtering Fabrics:
The Symphony® double honeycomb fabric is easy to care for. Regular dusting with a feather duster or vacuum cleaner brush is recommended. Most stains can be blotted with a damp sponge and mild detergent. For problem stains, the shade can be removed from the installation brackets and soaked in warm water. When damp, raise shade tightly to recrisp pleats. Before using anything stronger than mild detergent and lukewarm water, test an unobtrusive corner of the shade.

Determined upon the shade material of choice there are two different ways to clean your indoor shades.

For PVC Shades

Q: Q: The material on my shade is rolling up crooked. What causes this and how do I fix it?
This is usually caused by the installation not being level; the shade will roll towards the higher side. It must be corrected immediately or the shade material, telescoping over the end, will rub the shade brackets and get damaged. Best solution is to remount the brackets so the shade will be level.
Another solution is to lower the shade until the roller is exposed. On the side opposite the incorrect roll place a 3 inch length of 1 1/2″ masking tape on the long edge of the shade material, or on the roller edge. This will balance (level) the roller. Additional layers of tape may be required until the shade rolls up evenly.

Operate the shade slowly to be sure the roll is correct; stop at once if the material runs to one side.
