Fixed Panel Shade – No Installation Tools Required
E-Z Skylight Shade is a fixed solar shade panel that fits inside the skylight opening using spring tension rods at each end to secure it. Custom manufactured to your exact specifications, these shades can be made using transparent woven or light blocking fabrics. Kirsh Spring Tension Rods are hidden in permanently welded pockets at the top and bottom and lock the panel into position. A third filler flap pocket closes up any extra gaps in the height. There will be a gap of about 1/4″ on each side of the fabric panel. Larger units may require an intermediate pocket for additional support.

E-Z Install Skylight Shade Description
NOTE: The surfaces that the tension rods will be pushing against must be parallel to each other for the rods to stay up. No drilling, brackets or special installation tools are required to install this simple, low cost solution to control heat, glare and fading. The panels do not retract. Skylights require at least 2” of space between finished shade and glass to avoid thermal heat buildup.
This system uses the Phifer SheerWave 4000 Series. SheerWeave 4000, 4100 and 4400 are the only sun control fabrics that use DOW’s unique ECOLIBRIUM Bio-Based Plasticizer. ECOLIBRIUM is an eco-friendly solution that lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
These solar shade materials are woven from heavy duty, color fast, non shrinking yarns. They are available in 3%, 5% or 10% openness factors depending upon the light reducing requirements. We recommend 10% openness to retain the open feeling of a skylight. Colors closest to white reject heat the best. Light blocking materials from our blackout collection are also a popular option.

SPECIFICATIONS
- Length: Filler flap pocket that extends beyond height ordered provides full coverage. May be ordered without extra filler pocket if desired
- Shade fabric width is 3/8″ narrower than the opening to provide space to install pressure rods
- Minimum width is 16″
- Maximum width and length is 48″ x 72″
- Skylights require at least 2” of space between finished shade and glass to avoid thermal heat buildup
- Shades are shipped with all the necessary hardware
- These shades are lead free

Measuring Instructions
- (Photo 1) These shades can only be inside mounted.
- (Photo 2) Always use a steel measuring tape.
- (Photo 3) Measure to the nearest 1/8”. Round DOWN, not UP, if it is 1/16th over.
- Tell us raw measurements. Do not take your own deductions.
- Always give width before height
- And always, feel free to call us for help and email us photos of where you are installing.
Inside Frame Mount
- Measure width at top, middle, and bottom (A) Tell us the raw measurements. Let us take the deduction for fit. We will tell you fabric width.
- Measure the height (B) If not ordering the shade to drop all the way down, let us know.
